	Suffolk Open Studios Programme of Events 2008 Core events -
	Suffolk Open Studios Showcase Exhibition 17th May to 26th May 11am – 5pm Blackthorpe Barn Rougham near of Bury St Edmunds Click here for location map. The Showcase Exhibition is held in a spectacular mediaeval barn, set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. It is the perfect opportunity to see the stunning collection of members work all under one roof. All artists opening their studios take part, therefore it also gives you the chance to view their work and decide which studios you would like to visit the following month. The exhibition is divided into two: - The large barn holds the Main Exhibition. Here the artwork is for sale, but not to be collected until the end of the exhibition. The smaller long barn houses the Wrap & Go area, where artwork is for sale but can be taken at the time of purchase. Although the artwork is for sale there is no pressure to buy. We are hoping to have credit & debit card payment facility, otherwise cash or checks only. New for 2008 membership is the SOS ART PRIZE sponsored by Awarded to the artist with outstanding work, selected from that displayed at the ‘S.O.S Showcase Exhibition’ So come along to see a wealth of artistic expression, style, approach and techniques, in an incredible range of materials and disciplines. Find out who won the art prize, decide who you would like to visit, and to enjoy the surroundings with a cup of tea/coffee and a piece of cake.
	Open Studios Event Weekends in June 11am to 5pm Various locations throughout Suffolk A chance to see how artists work. SOS members invite you to visit them in their studios, giving you the opportunity to see the creative process, discuss the artist’s motivation and ask questions. There will be work in progress, as well as finished, some of which may be for sale, though there is no pressure to buy. A wealth of artistic expression, style, approach and techniques to explore in an incredible range of materials and disciplines. The SOS Directory and Website lists all the artists opening their studios, giving you the details to plan your visits.
	Autumn Exhibition 29th & 30th November 10am - 5pm Orwell Park School, Nacton. Click here for location map. The Autumn Exhibition is a roaming one, this year to be held in the fabulous Orwell Park School, situated in stunning parkland overlooking the Orwell estuary, a great location, just off the A14 near Ipswich. This weekend exhibition provides the opportunity to see the latest collection of SOS artists work. The artwork is for sale and can be taken at the time of purchase. We are hoping to have credit & debit card payment facility, otherwise cash or checks only.
	SOS Members' Exhibitions These are are exhibitions organised by members of SOS Art About Town 3rd - 26th May open normal business hours Various locations throughout Suffolk Click for list of Artists and Venues >> Art About Town is an art event that brings together local businesses and Suffolk Open Studio’s artists, their artwork being exhibited within the business premises, giving you the opportunity for a sneak preview of members work before their studios open to the public in June. During normal working hours, you can visit the various locations, pick up a directory and simply view the work displayed and perhaps later visit the artist in their studio.
