The Visual Arts Festival
International, British and Suffolk
Saturday 2nd June – Tuesday 5th June 2012
Jubilee Bank Holiday (Monday and Tuesday are bank holidays)
The fringe will be an important part of this Visual Arts Festival and we are inviting artists and artist groups to stage pop up art events in local businesses (shops, restaurants, hotels etc) as well as in private houses in Aldeburgh and the surrounding villages. Alternatively you may like to stage your own event in your home or borrowed / hired venue. The more spectacular the ideas the better!
Lots of local businesses are already excited about the artistic and creative possibilities of collaborating with local artists. As soon as you let me know you’re interested, Candida or I will let you know which businesses are keen so that you can get together and plan your amazing pop up art event.
We are planning Monday and Tuesday 5th June as thrilling days jam packed with talks and presentations by many of Britain’s most eminent art world personalities concluding with Botallack O’Clock the hugely critically acclaimed play about the artist Roger Hilton, written by Eddie Elks starring Dan Frost.
Your art event will be an important part of the Festival and will be publicised on the Aldeburgh ART website and in the Festival Programme. There is no charge to participate, but as a participating artist you are eligible for a half price Festival ticket £30 instead of £60 (for Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June six events at the Jubilee Hall) and we would like you to order one Festival ticket (you can sell on the individual tickets at full price if you would like to) as a goodwill gesture.
